As teams deploy AI agents to automate workflows, they're discovering that traditional all-in-one software licenses create arbitrage opportunities. Agents now handle commodity tasks—data entry, basic analysis, routine admin—that previously justified subscription costs, forcing vendors to unbundle or lose revenue to automation. End users rather than vendors now control which features stay valuable enough to pay for, eroding software moats from the bottom up. Vendors will either aggressively segment pricing by task complexity or watch teams migrate to best-of-breed point solutions stitched together with agents.
