Commercial satellite providers like Maxar and Planet Labs charge governments and NGOs for similar capabilities. Wildfire response depends on speed and accuracy. Smaller municipalities, under-resourced developing countries, and citizen scientists can now access the same data as well-funded agencies. The shift moves the cost of global disaster preparedness from markets to public infrastructure.
