Russia's systematic GPS disruption across Eastern Europe and Iran's ballistic missile salvos show that space infrastructure—long treated as neutral or strategic backdrop—is now a direct military target with immediate terrestrial consequences. Unlike nuclear deterrence or cyber operations, these attacks are visible, persistent, and degrading civilian and military navigation in real time, forcing NATO and regional powers to rapidly harden or replace vulnerable satellite dependencies. Space has shifted from a domain of advantage into a domain of vulnerability, with first-mover advantage going to whoever can jam, blind, or destroy orbital assets faster than adversaries can rebuild them with redundancy.
