Amazon's decision to make content scraping opt-out rather than opt-in on Twitch exposes a structural tension in generative AI: creators won't voluntarily surrender training data without compensation, so platforms are choosing legal extraction over consent. Twitch streamers have no contractual protection, and Amazon has no commercial incentive to request permission it's legally entitled to withhold.
