K-pop's organized fanbase is becoming a counterforce to AI-generated sexual content targeting their idols, using coordinated reporting and social media campaigns to police platforms. This is one of the first coordinated fan-led resistance movements against deepfake abuse at scale, with potential spillover effects for how other fan communities (anime, gaming, entertainment) respond to synthetic media violations. The dynamic also exposes a gap in platform enforcement: fans are doing moderation work that YouTube, TikTok, and Discord have not automated or prioritized.
