Technology advances quickly. The problem is that feedback loops—social, cultural, psychological—have slowed relative to deployment speed. When AI systems, algorithmic amplification, or new platforms reach millions of users before norms form around responsible use, damage accumulates as fait accompli: misinformation spreads, behavioral addiction takes hold, institutions fracture. The pattern is now predictable: deployment first, social infrastructure later, crisis management last. Each wave gets treated as novel.
