Managers are increasingly using generative AI to eliminate exactly this kind of friction, which means companies that want to preserve thinking time now have to explicitly design for it, or watch their teams outsource the entire preparation process to a model. If AI can produce a passable memo in thirty seconds, the organization loses the forcing function that makes executives actually wrestle with strategy before they walk into the room.
