Why Founder Personal Brands Are Failing to Drive Revenue

Tech's obsession with founder-led social media presence has decoupled from actual business outcomes. Companies are investing heavily in LinkedIn while customer acquisition costs stay flat or rise. A CEO's viral thread doesn't move enterprise deals, SMB retention, or product-market fit, yet marketing budgets continue flowing toward personal brand infrastructure instead of channels that demonstrably move revenue. CFOs are now demanding ROI on "founder visibility" initiatives, and the gap between spend and attribution is becoming harder to justify.
